And then the time for him to go back to USA comes. He decided he must propose to her before traveling back. He can't afford another man taking her away from him. A day to the day he's to leave the country,after they got back from a night out,Jamie popped the question. Beauty was kind of expecting him to propose someday but she wasn't prepared at all when he finally did. She couldn't even say anything. She asked him to give her time to think it through because according to her,this is a lifetime commitment but he wouldn't hear of it. He wants an outright answer. He pleaded with her to please say 'YES' and she did. Of course she'll love to marry him. He's a nice guy and good looking too. Jamie was so happy he couldn't even hide his excitement. He gave her a tight hug and kept hugging her all through the night. The next day, Beauty saw him off at the airport. It was a painful experience because it was like a part of her was leaving. She's going to be lonely and she wishes he can stay back with her but they both know that's not possible. She knows she'll miss him so much and she's missing him already. Jamie himself was sadder but he has to go. So they kissed and bid each other goodbye.
Immediately Jamie got to US,he gave Beauty a call and she was really glad. They kept on with their relationship via phone. He made sure she doesn't lack anything. Their bond was growing stronger. Soon they kicked off their marriage preparation. He had his people go see hers and most of the traditional rites were carried out even before he came back to the country. One year later,Jamie came home for the traditional and white wedding. Beauty was so happy her man is back again. Both were glad they're reunited again.
It happened that after Jamie's proposal,Beauty went home and informed her family. She also informed one of her aunts,Auntie Mo, who is an Evangelist. She prayed for her and told her she's in the right track. Months later,still in that year, Auntie Mo gave Beauty's mom a call and told her about a negative revelation she had about Beauty. In the dream,She saw Beauty crying on her wedding day and her groom was nowhere to be seen. People where nodding towards her saying"thought she likes feeling funky,now where is her man? Nonsense". Then she woke up. Beauty' mom called her to come and hear what her aunt was saying. When she came,her aunt repeated same story to her and she was really scared. Auntie Mo then told her she'll give her prayers to say for herself and her man. She said she too will join Beauty in saying the prayers but that she needs to be sent money she'll use to purchase incense and candle for the prayer. Beauty said okay that she'll do just that. Later in the day,Beauty had a change of mind and decided not to send the money meant for the candle and incense to her aunt. She doesn't like the idea of paying money for prayer.
Now back to the story. Four years after they first met, Beauty and Jamie wedded. All remaining traditional rites were completed. Then her man had to go back to US again and promised coming home for christmas celebration in three months' time. He also told her he'll start processing her migration to US as soon as he gets back. She saw him off at the airport and had to experience the pains of seeing her man leave all over again. They kept on talking on the phone their usual way for a month after he went back. Then one day, Beauty didn't hear from her man. By evening,she was worried. She called him many times but he didn't pick up. The next day,she kept calling and calling till the phone stops ringing. When she calls,it goes straight to voice mail. She didn't stop. She continued calling the next day and the next and the next for six more days. Lots of thoughts were going through her mind: Is her husband Ok? Is he sick? She didn't want to think the worst. On the fifth day of her not hearing from her husband,she felt weak and noticed something is going on in her system. She decided to carryout a pregnancy test and it turned out positive. She was so happy and couldn't stop dancing with joy. Then she started calling her husband the more. When the call still won't go through,she broke down in tears. She doesn't know what is wrong. She's been crying for some days now since she hasn't heard from her man. She has called all his friends in US but no one picked up. She has also called her husband's relatives and told them she hasn't heard from her man and everybody is very worried and scared. On the sixth day,her phone rang and she rushed to pick it up hoping it's her hubby and yes the number is American. Quickly she picks up and "Hello".
